Impact Crusher is the most important crushing equipment in mineral crushing. Its main principle is that the material block in the rotor with high speed rotation and a plate hammer is impacted by the plate rust in the rotor rotation range (hammer impact zone). The material is given through the guide plate to the hammering area: the material lump is thrown up after being hit by the plate hammer, and hit against the counterattack board at a high speed bounding back to plate hammer, which is a repetitive process. In the interactive procedure, the materials also collide with each other. Under the action of impact, rebound and collision, the material blocks produce cracks and finally will be broken into small grains which"s unloaded from the lower part of impact crusher.

After giving a glimpse at working principle of impact crusher, let"s make an overview on its major manifestation in mineral processing.
First, free fragmentation. The material entering the broken chamber is immediately impacted by the plate hammer.
Secondly: rebounding-break. In fact, the broken material is not dispersed without limitation, but concentrated on the impact crusher body. Because of the impact of plate hammer at a high speed, the materials are in a very high-speed motion, then hits the counterattack board to be shred, which brings the tertiary breaking on the materials. This kind of condition is called Rebound.

Thirdly: milling action. After going through those two kinds of crushing action above, the materials which are larger than the feeding size of the orifice will be chopped by the high-speed rotating plate hammer milling at the discharging place.
